The Marshall Plan helped protect the nation’s interests, because the European Countries affected by destruction of World War II was in danger of becoming communist countries. The United States wanted to stop the spread of communism, which will lead to the Cold War. The Marshall Plan was developed by Secretary of the State George Marshall. He proposed that the United States provided aid to all European nations that needed it. The Marshall Plan had revived European hopes. Over the next four years, 16 countries received some thirteen billion dollars in aid. By 1952, Western Europe was flourishing, and the Communist Party had lost much of its appeal to voters. The Marshall Plan not only stopped Communism, but saved European lives.

The use of the atomic bomb on Japan helped protect the nation’s interests, it was retaliation after the bombings on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. When President Roosevelt cut off the oil shipment to Japan, knowing that without it their Army and Navy will come to a halt. Japan was dependent on the U.S. for their oil supply. Japan in return fired back by dropping bombs on Pearl Harbor. The Manhattan Project was a plan given by U.S. President Harry S. Truman, discouraged by the Japanese response to the Potsdam Conference’s demand for unconditional surrender. Truman predicted there would be a much greater loss of life if the United States was to invade the Japanese mainland. The U.S. first dropped their first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6th, 1945. And the other atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan on August 9th, 1945. The Fourteen Point Plan
January 8, 1918 President Wilson set down 14 point plan for world peace that was to be used for peace negotiations after World War I.The speech made by Wilson on January 8,1918 laid out a policy. The Fourteen Points speech was the only statement of war aims any of the nations fighting in World War I. This speech was made without important coordination or talk with Wilson's partners in Europe. which caused complication.

Foreign policy is a government's strategy in dealing with other nations.Throughout the history of the United States, the primary goal for foreign policy has been to protect the nation's interests. The United States has taken military action to achieve their goals. These actions have resulted in different degrees of success.

The dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan ended World War II. The decision to do so was fair to the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Harry S. Truman. President Truman ordered the dropping of atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Japan had resulted in surrendering, and that was the ending of World War II. Over 200,000 people, mostly civilians died because of this war.

The Korean War was a war between North and South Korea. The United States of America fought for the South, and China fought for the North, which was also assisted by the Soviet Union. The war arose from the splitting of Korea at the end of World War II, and from the global tensions of the Cold War developing immediately afterwards.

Every nation has a foreign policy , but the United States foreign policy has had a huge impact on the world and the United States. American foreign policy has shifted from being based on isolationism to being based on global involvement and intervention, the primary goal of foreign policy has been to protect the nation’s interests. The United States has taken a multitude of various economic and military actions, such as declaring war on Spain in 1898 and fighting the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1973, to achieve this goal.

The declaring war on Spain in 1898 was the United States way to counter attack Spain for blowing up and sinking the U.S. warship Maine in Havana Harbor. The United states had took advantage of this opportunity to help cuba win the war. The United States had defeated Spain which has lead to both nations signing a peace treaty. After this , the United states was on its way to world power. This was a great way to advance as a nation.

The United States entering the Vietnam war was to try to stop Communism from spreading across south vietnam to protect U.S. interests.

Foreign Policy Essay

Strategies made by the nation on how to deal with other countries are called foreign policies. America has had many foreign policies of their own , since America is all about protecting their allies and of course themselves. Two of these many foreign policies are The Cuban Missile Crisis and The Treaty Of Versaille.
The Cuban Missile Crisis is a foreign policy action taken by the United States in October 16, 1962.The U.S had already made a major mistake with the Bay of Pigs affair - now they could afford no such errors as the consequences would be disastrous for everyone , Following American protests, Khrushchev, the Russian leader, sent Kennedy two letters both of which sent conflicting messages. The United States established a military blockade to prevent further missiles from entering Cuba , One letter said that the missiles would be withdrawn if Kennedy promised not to invade Cuba. The United States established a military blockade to prevent further missiles from entering Cuba. After a period of tense negotiations an agreement was reached between Kennedy and Khrushchev. The second foreign policy was the treaty of versatile. The United States has taken military and economic foreign policy actions to achieve that goal. These actions have resulted in varying degrees of success. The Marshall Plan helped protect the nation’s interests, because the European Countries affected by destruction of World War II was in danger of becoming communist countries. The United States wanted to stop the spread of communism, which will lead to the Cold War. The U.S. feared the spread of Soviet (USSR) Communism, because of the fear that was fed by the news media and politicians who portrayed the Soviets as being bent on world domination. In many Communist nations, people were not allowed to own land, follow their religious beliefs, or speak and act freely. Americans were afraid that the Soviets would take over the U.S. and take away their freedoms. President Harry S. Truman established a policy of “containment” towards the Soviet Union. The idea was not to fight a war with the Soviets, but rather to keep them from extending their existing boundaries. The destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki led to more than 70,000 people dead, some bodies were dismembered and hardly anything left to be buried. The bombs were dropped on Japan to make a point. There were political reasons for nuking those two high- density civilian populations, and the United States was not going to let Japan interfere with its political agenda by way of an untimely surrender. The second bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan was meant to strike fear into post war Germany (which became Japan’s ally in World War II). The surrender of the Empire of Japan was announced by Japan on August 15 and formally signed on September 2, 1945, bringing the hostilities of World War II to a close. By the end of July 1945, the Imperial Japanese Navy was incapable of conducting major operations and an Allied invasion of Japan was imminent. The atomic bomb on Japan helped avenge those innocent lives loss on Pearl Harbor, U.S.A.
