Throughout the centuries of the United States, the main goal of its foreign policy has been to protect the nation's interest. The United States has taken the strongest military and economic foreign policy. Two ways the U.S tried to protect the nation's interest was by the Mexican-American war along with The Fourteen Points and The Treaty of Versailles.

The Atomic bomb was dropped on japan to put a immediate end to WW2. Not to draw other countries, Such as the soviet union or china , into fighting against the U.S . As foreign relations grew it proved to the world that the U.S was the most powerful country at that time. This relates to several years later ,during the cold war. It pursued the soviet union to develop their own nuclear warfare.

Foreign Policies
Throughout history, the United Sates have established foreign policies in order to benefit the nation. This lead to dealing with other nations designed to achieve national objectives. The Marshall Plan is one historical foreign policy that has changed and benefited America , as well as The Cuban Missile Crisis. The Marshall Plan known as the European Recovery Program was an aid established by America to help Europe to get back on their feet after WWII. The Cuban Missile Crisis was confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union a conflict between the two that became one of the most intense periods of the cold war.

Throughout the course of United States history the primary goal of the foreign policy was to protect the Nation's interest even if it means to take military and economic policy actions. One example is the actions of United States when entering World War II. Another example would be the Korean War.

Throughout the course of the history of the United States it has been seen that the U.S. has used foreign policy to protect its interest as a nation. They have taken military actions as well as using economic foreign policies to keep their interest. Some of these actions included the Fourteen Points of Woodrow Wilson and the creation of the Panama Canal.

The Panama Canal is an important foreign policy that kept the U.S. interest in South America. The U.S. helped Panama escape from Colombian rule in order to gain access to the creation of the Panama Canal. Theodore Roosevelt made plans with Panama to pay a certain fee for using the canal . The U.S. used the canal in order to create a passage to send their navy fleets from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This would help protect the U.S. during war because they can transfer ships and troops more quickly rather than before.

The Fourteen Points was also a foreign policy that was important to the U.S.. Woodrow Wilson Created plan known as the Fourteen “Points”.Speech given by Wilson after WW1.The points where to create peace among all the nations in a peaceful manner. Points entailed freedom of the sea.The Points included the creation of a “League of Nations”. It also stated that trade and economy restrictions should be removed for equal trade amongst all countries. Congress rejects the Fourteen points in order to maintain isolation. The U.S wanted to ignore the germans and any Allies from the outside and conflict from anybody. The U.S went back to the teaching of the founding fathers after WW1. The U.S also tightened up on foreign policy as well after the war to protect their own interest.

Due to war and its interest the U.S. used foreign policies in order to protect themselves as well as their interests. Action such as the creation of the panama canal and the creation of the fourteen points. These actions also lead to other actions like isolation as well as making the U.S. a major power.

Throughout the course of the United States history the primary goal of the foreign policy was to protect the Nation's interest even if it means to take military and economic policy actions. One example is the actions of United States when entering World War II. Another example would be the Korean War.

The Domino Theory caused the Korean War, china turned communist in 1949. On June 25, 1950 the Korean war began when some 75,000 soldiers from the north people’s army poured across the 38th parallel. The boundaries between the soviet backed democratic people to the western republic and Korea to the south. The Korean War happened to undermine Communism and protect the American way of life. Harry Truman believed that the soviet union was the most dangerous threat to the United States. The division of Korea had come at the end of World War II in August of 1945 of the Soviet Union invaded Korea.

World War II was an important foreign policy event for the United States. Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939, France and Britain declared war on Germany after conquering Poland, Germany attacked France, which starts the war in Europe. On December 7, 1941 Japan launched a surprise attack on the U.S Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. In response the U.S declared war on Japan while helping the Allied forces with Germany and Italy.

The U.S government wanted to prevent conflicts. Throughout the United States history the primary goal of the foreign policy was to protect the nation's interest even if it takes military and economic policy actions.

The foreign policies of a nation determine how they interact with other nations. Throughout the history of the United States, the primary goal of its foreign policy has been to protect the nation’s interests. The United States has taken military and economic foreign policy actions to achieve these goals. Two examples of important foreign policy actions are the use of the Atomic Bomb against Japan and U.S. intervention in the Korean War.

The Manhattan project was a research & development project that produced the first atomic bombs during World War 2. At the time, President Harry S. Truman, warned by some of his advisers that any attempt to invade japan would result in horrific American casualties. He ordered that the new weapon be used to bring the war to speedy end. In 1945, The United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima & Nagasaki. During WW2, Japan was the common enemy to The Soviet Union & United States.

At the end of WW2, the Soviet Union & United States were no longer allies. The Cold War had begun & the United States was in competition with the Soviet Union. The US used the atomic bomb to demonstrate their power & frighten the Soviets. It was an example to show the Soviets that they would use the atomic bomb if they had to, just like in WW2. The Cold War lasted from 1947-1991, Mikhail Gorbachev obtained control of the Soviet Union & his rise to power took in an era of reconstructing & openness.
