Monopolies have had a great effect on the American life throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Monopolies during this time began to overthrow smaller business. Taking out smaller businesses lead to the result of fewer jobs, less wages, and corrupt power. J.D Rockefeller, co-founder of the standard oil company, was a monopolist. He dominated the oil industry, got rich on rebates from railroads, bribing men to spy on competing companies, making secret agreements, and so on. He is considered the biggest monopolist during that time. In order to become part in the industrial business, the industrial revolution took part of it. The industrial revolution brought machines that could give Rockefeller the power to make it into business and to become the biggest monopolist. Rockefeller used vertical integration to get to the top of the oil industry using the monopolized companies as stepping stones to get to the top.

The industrial revolution brought machines that could give Rockefeller the power to make it into the oil business and to become the biggest monopolist. Rockefeller used vertical integration to get to the top of the oil industry using the monopolized companies as stepping stones to get to the top.

Urbanizing is a population shift from rural to urban areas, and the ways in which society adapts to the change. The industrial revolution had a lasting effect on urbanization. Although many rural areas remained farming communities during this time, the lives of people in cities changed drastically. Life shifted from farming regions to city like areas. People had to find new jobs in factories that were in those cities. This led many cities to become very populated and created horrible living conditions. Since the industrialists started prospering, the business owners needed more employees to fill up the spots that needed to be filled. Most industries were desperate and took any one into business who could work, even kids. Kids or even adults worked for 14 to 16 hours a day and only got paid $8-$10. (They only got 10₵ an hour.) The better you worked or more experience you had, meant the more you got paid. Living at home was just as bad as working, there were up to 5 to 9 people in one room bunched up and they slept with that same amount of people at night.

During the 19th century, the United States experienced an enormous amount of industrial growth. This industrial growth resulted in several changes in American life. Due to Industrial development, monopolies used machines that gave them power to build businesses. The industrial era provided them with these types of machinery. As well as the growth of monopolies, industrial maturation changed the way people lived. Farmers went from farming housings to urban cities. Monopolies and Urbanization were just two of the many changes that happened because of the industrial era.

Immigration increased during the 1800s. During the 1800s the U.S. government was using the immigrants to work for them with out paying them enough money, The reason why the government was using them was because it was the only job for the immigrants could do during the 1800s and most of the U.S Citizens didn't want to work in the factors because they want to get pay enough money and the government wasn't trying to pay a lot of money son the only way they could have workers was the immigrants

A monopoly exist when a specific person or a business man is the only person who provide a particular goods or a product.Industrialization led to monopoly because business that used factories they could make things a lot faster and easier then small business. It put small business out of business. The industry was controlled by big business which led them to have a monopoly. One negative effect on the american life is that it gives them option to bring their price up whenever they want to cause the people got no chose but to buy the product from them.

Around the 19th century the U.S. went through huge changes in the industrial growth. These huge changes effected the american life. Two of these changes were the growth of monopolies, and the growth of reform movements.
One change in american life that resulted from industrial growth was the growth of monopolies. First off, the meaning of monopolies is a single company or group that owns all or nearly all of the market for a given type of product or service. For example the oil market, Rockefeller bought and took his competition out of business, and as a result for not having competition Rockefeller raised his prices. Another example would be Andrew Carnegie. This man was the only distribute of steel. One negative effect is Rockefeller being the only one to own oil and distribute it. The way industrialization has contributed to monopolies is by business ruling during the civil war which made monopolies rise. Another change in american life that resulted from industrial. Another change in american life that resulted from industrial growth was the increase of southern and eastern Europe immigration. The increase of immigration happened because of multiple reason various wars, hunger.

The increase of immigration happened because of multiple reasons various wars, hunger, and other world causes in their country that made them move to the U.S. A positive effect of Europe immigrations coming over to the U.S. is, it was good for business owners since now they have ton of workers to give jobs to. One effect of this change is the immigrants needed some where to live since they were working for extremely low wages; they lived in tenements, little space, and poorly built.
In conclusion, there were multiple changes throughout the industrial revolution. These were the few of many changes.

Monopolies in the united states have existed in many forms. When a business dominates a market, its market power makes it a monopoly. How these business use their market power will determine the legality of the monopoly. The Industrialization contributed to this change by improving railroads and resources that were needed such as coal, cotton and oil. Growth of monopolies that produce these resources where making the most money. These business took these resources and use them in any way they can. One positive of effect would be that traveling was much easier. One negative effect was that lots of people where not treated right such as people would get low pay for hard work. This lead up to growth of labor unions.
In the industrial revolution growth of labor union was one big important part of changes to American life. Industrialization contributed to growth of labor union was people helped improve buildings, improving railroads and other useful items that were needed. One good effect was that America life was been improved. One negative effect was that people who was working was living in a poor conditions and low pay, the pay was so low that some people would starve to death. Growth of labor unions was increasing because of immigrants were taking jobs even if the pay was low.
Lots of things change through the industrial revolution. Many people lives where change for the better or the worse such business man. Many lost there business because there business had collapse because of their actions. People in America started to realize that life was terrible. People end up exposing business man and americ a little bit better.

During the 19th century, the United States went through a drastic industrial growth. The drastic industrial change showed many differences in American life. These changes included an increase in urbanization, and an increase in immigration.
Due to the industrial revolution, there was a great increase in urbanization. This was due to the fact that factories were being created in the cities. Coincidently, one of the factories was of Andrew Carnegie. The mass production of steel from molten pig iron prior to the open hearth furnace was called the Bessemer process. Thanks to this steel, people were able to make buildings, which was where they were now going to live. A problem with the increase in urbanization, though, was the fact that now that the rural families are now moving into this urban area, but were almost instantly overcrowded. This leads to a higher risk of catching illnesses and diseases but having no money or health insurance to pay for it.
The industrial revolution also had a large impact in the coming of immigrants into America. The increase in jobs also included an increase in laborers. Factory owners needed to find a way to get the job done but for cheap, that’s where desperate Europeans come in. American factory owners welcomed immigrants with open arms, but American “nativists” had a large problem. They believed that their jobs were being taken, and so something had to be done, they encouraged for the Chinese exclusion act and the national origins act which prohibited Chinese and Japanese (or any Asians for that matter) into coming into “their” country.
In conclusion, the industrial revolution, created many openings for many people in terms of jobs and opportunities. These changes showed many differences in the American life, which can both be viewed as positive or negative.
