Regional and ethnic diversity both makes the United States stronger and a better country. The United States has regions with different beliefs and everyone finds a common ground and live together. Diversity is good like the Author from "Kansas and Al Qaeda" mentions, when you only plant 1 type of crop in soil and keep doing it then the ecosystem becomes unstable and bad in general. But when you plant multiple crops in the soil and then you have a good ecosystem. So the United States cultures can be seen like that, because there is multiple cultures and multiple beliefs and not just a mono-culture, I think the United States a strong country when it has lots of diversity. Everyone should respect each other's region and its ideas and not see them as inferior. The idea of "Us and them" is not a good idea because he divides us. The United States is a strong country because of regional and ethnic diversity which is what defines United States and its qualities like The Constitution itself which says it all, individual rights, separation of power, states and federal rights, etc.

In numerous ways, the country's diversity as a whole makes it stronger, but also weaker because as a whole country, it was our diversity that brought new, different, and groundbreaking changes to our country. By building on our diversity we were able to build our country into what it is today. However, with diversity brings differences, which in turn also inhibit our ability to always agree. Without being able to consent to certain issues, being domestic or worldwide, our progress sometimes is set at a standstill.

I think that ethnic diversity is both good and bad for this country. Like many countries, the more culturally diverse it is, the better it is for the social and economic aspects of that particular society. On the flip side, too much diversity can cause a problem, because then the people that were in that society "first" might start discriminating against one another.

To some extent our regional and ethnic diversity does harm our decisions. Our beliefs differ due to our own personal experiences which causes our statements to conflict with each other and sometimes are unable to be resolved due to high standing officials. But, diversity tends to give us a learning experience of each others beliefs and allow us to compromise with each other in order to maintain peace and equality.

i belive that it is better if America is govnered by it own states not by one nation because each state has the own cultrues and own beliefs on cetain things, which is a good thing because if we as a nation is not diverst then i belive that we will not flourished as a whole.

I believe that this "country" is better off under one large cluster of ethnic diversity that are harmonious and can agree on the same things. Sectionalism in a sense is very bad for the country it separates the people and prevents this country to be called a "union" because the country is not united. This country is more like little countries that are stapled together by geography . I think that having separate little state governments is bad because it allows people to manipulate the law an prevents people from essentially being themselves. Why cant the people in every state have the same rights? for example the gay marriage law should be available in every state because in every state here are gay people. Another example is the medical marijuana legalization law in every state there are people who need medical marijuana but have their whole life placed \in that one state so should they move everything they have like their job their family, EVERYTHING because in the state that they live in it not legal? laws like these should be placed under the "god given laws" because its basic logic but because of sectionalism MEN ARE NOT EQUAL in this country.

I believe that the united states of america is better of being diverse in every way possible. The same way as how farming grounds keep producing good crops when u plant different things in it a nation will remain great if its diverse. Diversity allows for people to be able learn more from one another and be able to choose what they want to believe in by themselves instead of just following what others around them believe in. If the whole u.s were to follow one culture or believe than it wouldn't advance as a nation because there's no diversity so people could think that what there doing is correct when it isn't. People need to be free and able to express there opinions but they cant do that of there only used to thinking in one way .

I believe that regional and ethnic diversity has made America a super power of nations and is extremely vital to its everlasting progression. This country was founded on not one, but actually a wide mixture of cultures that came together under one government that allowed these cultures to remain by permitting states to have different laws. All this diversity bore new ideas for improvement and progression in the country. Such as when Coolard said that when one type of plant is planted over and over on land, then the land will become more infertile, while planting different types will improve the soil. This can be applied to the country and the diversity of America.

I think its better if America should be governed by people in the state. One because different sates have different beliefs, for example in New York they passed the right to have gay marriage. States like Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and so on wouldn't have passed this law because most red states like these are Catholic and think that marriage is sacred and should only be shared between man and women. Theres also a state where you can,t smile in public and if America was one nation it wouldnt work because I know some people like to smile alot and some don't smile at all, so theres no compromise.

It is often said that "diversity is our strength" and there seems to be a lot of emphasis on achieving ethnic diversity and regional diversity.
when I look at history and the world today, it seems that the countries that are the most diverse seem to be the most flourished.

Ethnic and regional diversity are two key factors that help form this country as a nation. However the benefits of diversity comes with its problems, because of this diversity our governments has had to undergo major compromises in order to keep its population content with its decisions. Even then not every one will be happy with the end results. If our country wasn't divers and, in fact a nation in terms of religion or culture, some decisions would be made almost with out much debate. that said, having a divers population has helped us make sure that the decisions that we do make are seen as appropriate to broader and more divers audience. While our diversity makes decisions slow to come, it, at times works as a kind of buffer that makes those decisions the right ones in making this country a better place to live and stronger as a country. For example it took the United States almost 5 long years and a bloody war to pass the 13th amendment, an amendment that today is seen as a moral must. In my eyes, if it takes 10 years to pass a law that is morally right and beneficial to a large portion of the populace , the by all means take your time.
